About God’s Love We Deliver
For people living with severe illness in the New York City metropolitan area, God’s Love We Deliver provides nutrition therapy, and cooks and home delivers medically tailored meals. We are a non-sectarian organization. All of our services are provided free to clients and full of love.
About the Role
The Baker assists the Pastry Chef and Chefs with baked goods, and the cooking and packaging of food for the Meal Program. The Baker follows sanitation and safety protocols established for the kitchen at all times.

- This position requires onsite work.
- This is a Full-Time non-exempt position, paying $20.50 hourly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist our team in all aspects of production including but not limited to scaling, mixing, portioning, baking, proper cooling, packaging, and packing out of our daily creations, with extreme attention to detail.
- High Volume baking and prep, maintaining an ongoing awareness of ingredients as our recipes change with seasons and menu specials.
- Ensure all products are ready by pack-out deadlines.
- Monitor inventory and collaborate with the Pastry Chef to ensure accuracy and availability of supplies.
- Ensure all sanitation practices are upheld in accordance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Always utilize FIFO (First In, First Out) and proper storage of food products.
- Commit to creating consistent, high-quality products, communicating effectively with managers to ensure the maintenance of all quality standards.

About You:
You are highly self-motivated and empathetic, a ‘people person’ with a strong desire to support our mission and your colleagues. You love to bake, and you are dedicated to delivering desserts made with love using high quality ingredients and traditional baking ingredients. and you thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
In addition, the right candidate meets the following requirements:
- Two years of experience baking in a high volume kitchen
- Culinary degree or formal training
- Excellent communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Ability to read recipes, and scale using basic math skills for recipe modifications
- A thorough understanding of how to safely and responsibly use and clean large commercial scales, mixers, and ovens
- Strict adherence to food and safety regulations while carrying out kitchen duties.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Maintains strong organizational and time management skills
- Food Handler’s Certification or certification within 30 days post-hire
- Ability to work in extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather)
- Ability to stand while working for several hours consecutively
- Ability to lift or move up to 75 pounds
