For people living with severe illness in the New York City metropolitan area, God’s Love We Deliver provides nutrition therapy, and cooks and home delivers medically tailored meals. We are a non-sectarian organization. All of our services are provided free to clients and full of love.

About the Role

The Development Operations Manager will join a fast-paced fundraising department of Development, Communications, and Events professionals. The individual in this role will manage the Raiser’s Edge database, including donor records, data reporting processes, and Volunteer Hub record integration. They will also manage our direct marketing efforts including mail (multiple fundraising letters, event invitations, and newsletters) and digital initiatives.  Responsibilities include the timely execution of all mail and digital initiatives including working with various colleagues to ensure the timely delivery of content. This position will assist with online fundraising and the production of some print publications. The Operations Manager will be our liaison to Raiser’s Edge, managing our new “dashboard” for the department including offering regular, timely analysis of fundraising trends.  Strong database management skills, analytical skills, writing and editing skills, and impeccable attention to detail will be essential in this role.

Position Objectives and Expectations

  • Manages the Raiser’s Edge database to produce mailing lists, email lists, queries and exports, as well as reports analyzing donor behavior, giving histories, and donor trends.
  • Manages donor data and reporting processes with maximum detail and accuracy, maintaining impeccable records, and ensuring integrity of data.
  • Manages direct marketing efforts—including donor acquisition, retention, appeals, and mailings—to support agency fundraising goals and budgets. Also assists in production of event invitations and website content, mail merges, and in-house mailing projects.
  • Responsible for producing and maintaining production schedules and meeting deadlines.
  • Coordinates activities of external direct mail partners, including designers, list brokers, printers, consultants, and vendors to ensure deadlines are met and internal creative guidelines followed.
  • In collaboration with Communications staff, assists with planning and production of email and online fundraising appeals, and other electronic publications.
  • Collaborates with Special Events staff on event-related mailings.
  • Assists with tracking, recording and reporting of donor cultivation actions.
  • Assists with management and integration of volunteer department data into Raiser’s Edge.
  • Some writing, editing, and proofreading will be required to help ensure accuracy and compliance with internal style guidelines.
  • Manages budgets for all direct marketing expenses and revenue.
  • Prepares gift reports and analysis on a regular basis and as requested.
  • Helps track and analyze results of test marketing programs and recommends strategies for growth.
  • Works closely with development team to solicit gifts and build strong community support for programs at God’s Love.
  • Represents God’s Love to internal and external partners to grow and maintain key relationships.
  • Reviews and evaluates market research to use in forecasting future direct marketing needs.
  • Identifies target market segments by demographic and/or psychographic characteristics.
  • Researches postal requirements and mail sorting techniques to obtain maximum postal discounts.
  • Assist with donor inquiries as needed.
  • Participates in agency events and cultivation activities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition, you meet the following requirements:   

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3-5 years of development experience.
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong organization skills, analytical skills, time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple projects.
  • Ability to organize, manage and complete multiple tasks in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
