God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitians, and all clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of its clients. All of the agency’s services are provided free of charge.

About the Role

The Development Associate – Key Donor Experience Liaison (KDA) will lead all Key Donor/Corporate Partner & VIP volunteer initiatives working closely with our Volunteer Department, Kitchen & Delivery departments. Assists in the development and execution of an annual plan to cultivate & solicit individual gifts from both new and existing donors. The KDA also focuses on assisting our Major & Individual Giving Officers by increasing the giving levels of existing donors and assists in expanding our new donor portfolio through research, relationship building and outreach, collaborating with Development team, Executive team, Volunteer Leadership committees and Board to achieve fundraising goals for individual gifts.

  • This is a hybrid position allowing for some remote work and requiring regular in-office workdays.
  • This is a Full-Time exempt position, paying $65,000-$72,000 annually.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all Key Donor/Corporate Partner & VIP Volunteer initiatives working closely with our Volunteer Department, Kitchen & Deliver Departments.
  • Lead Partner Event programming, working closely with our Events & Communications Department.
  • Host Key Donors, Corporate Partners & VIPs for site tours and volunteer shifts.
  • Organize and Assist with the digital fundraising platform CLASSY.  Create fundraising pages, manage the monthly call with the CLASSY team in conjunction with the God’s Love Development, Finance, and Communications Departments.
  • Develop and write the Development related blog posts in coordination with our Communications Department.
  • Attend/support Key Donor and Corporate Partner Events including but not limited to the planning and production of events.
  • Cultivate, research and solicit portfolio of individual donors and other prospects to achieve annual fundraising objective of $2.5M for individual annual giving.
  • Assist in the management of our Golden Heart Society & our planning giving program, The Legacy Society.
  • Support the team and CEO/President, Vice President/Chief Development Officer, Director of Development, and Major and Individual Gifts Officers to expand and implement planned giving strategy and solicitation strategies, engagement, and stewardship.
  • Support the cultivation of internal and external relationships and enhance major donor relationships through support of donor-led initiatives and programs.
  • Manage routine donor communications, including phone and e-mail inquiries, contributions, gift processing issues, special orders, general donor cultivation, and other correspondence as needed.
  • Conduct follow-up with donors regarding gift-processing issues and special orders.
  • Write, edit, and proofread other agency materials as needed (donor emails, newsletter content, Web content, etc.)
  • Enter all relevant donor/prospect details into NXT/Raiser’s Edge Database; ensure proper tracking of gifts and donor Data, and to ensure timely acknowledgment of gifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 In addition, the right candidate meets the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of fast-paced nonprofit development experience
  • Experience working within a development department, special events experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Must be a team player and can work independently.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strategic mindset with an ability to think and focus on both the near- and long-term.
  • Adaptable to change in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Available evenings and weekends for donor visits and events as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge NXT.
