About the Role

The Development Database Manager will join a fast-paced fundraising department comprised of development, communications, and events professionals. The individual in this role will be responsible for internal and external data including managing the Raiser’s Edge database including donor records, data reporting processes and Volunteer Hub record integration. Advanced Raiser’s Edge knowledge and experience is required.  This position will assist with online fundraising and production of some print publications, partnering in both the Development and Communications Departments. The manager will be our liaison to Raiser’s Edge; managing our new “dashboard” for the department including offering regular, timely analysis of fundraising trends.  The manager will also use Power BI to pull internal client data needed for proposals and communications. Strong database management and analytical skills, writing and editing skills, communication skills and an impeccable attention to detail will be essential in this role.

  • This is a hybrid position allowing for some remote work and requiring regular in-office workdays.
  • This is a Full-Time exempt position, paying $62,000-$70,000 annually.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the Raiser’s Edge database to produce mailing lists, email lists, queries, and exports as well as reports analyzing donor behavior, giving histories, and donor trends with maximum detail and accuracy.
  • Maintains and improves the overall integrity of the Raiser’s Edge database: updating records, merging constituents, and adding relevant information provided by donors, prospects, or staff
  • Assists in producing and maintaining production schedules and meeting deadlines.
  • Coordinates activities of external direct mail partners, including designers, list brokers, printers, consultants, and vendors to ensure deadlines are met and internal creative guidelines followed.
  • Coordinates and updates organization information on Charity Navigator, Candid Foundation Center and GuideStar websites.
  • Coordinates with external vendors to upkeep and renew states fundraising subscriptions.
  • Leads training of Development staff in best practices regarding donor data management.
  • In collaboration with Development staff, grows fundraising revenue using data to identify key opportunities for major gifts, corporate grants, and foundation gifts.
  • Collaborates with Special Events staff on event-related mailings.
  • Assists with management and integration of volunteer department data (VolunteerHub) into Raiser’s Edge.
  • Prepares gift reports and analysis on a regular basis and as requested.
  • Run numbers in Power BI related to client demographics needed for proposals and communications
  • Assists with donor inquiries as needed.
  • Participates in agency events and cultivation activities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition, you meet the following requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of development experience
  • Strong expertise in Raiser’s Edge
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Able to communicate and collaborate effectively
  • Strong organization skills, time management skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple projects
  • Ability to organize, manage and complete multiple tasks in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
