God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, and clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of our clients. All of our services are provided free of charge to clients.

About the Role:

The Department of Nutrition Services supports the mission and goals of God’s Love We Deliver by designing nutritionally based meals for clients to eat, guiding clients to the right assortment of foods, and answering nutritional and general food questions. The Dietetic Technician, Registered supports the Nutrition Services Department by providing nutritional counseling and education under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian Nutritionists.

  • This is a hybrid position allowing for some remote work and requiring regular in-office workdays.
  • This is a Full-Time non-exempt position, paying $25.00 – $28.00 hourly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides nutrition counseling to clients including initial nutrition encounters and monitoring.
  • Documents interventions, monitors client problems, and reports relevant information to Registered Dietitian Nutritionists.
  • Assists clients with menu changes and refers clients to Registered Dietitian Nutritionists as needed.
  • Develops nutrition educational materials for a variety of medical conditions.
  • Performs nutrition analysis in support of menu development.
  • Contributes to team projects, surveys, and other tasks as required.

About You:

You are highly self-motivated and empathetic, with a strong desire to provide support to clients living with a serious illness. You are looking for a collaborative, team-oriented environment, and you are energized by providing nutrition education to clients with varied medical conditions.

In addition, you meet the following requirements:

  • Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Dietetic Technology, or Associate of Science (AS) in Food & Nutrition, or BS in Nutrition Science.
  • Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) credential required.
  • 2-3 years community experience preferred.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
