About Us
God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, and clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of our clients. All of our services are provided free of charge to clients.
About the Role:
The Individual Gifts Officer develops and executes an annual plan to cultivate & solicit individual gifts in the $100-$4,999 range from both new and existing donors. The annual fundraising goal for individual gifts is $500,000+. The Individual Gifts Officer focuses on increasing the giving levels of existing donors (100-200) and creates a new portfolio of potential donors through research, relationship building and outreach, collaborating with Development staff, Executive team, Leadership Councils and Board to achieve fundraising goals for individual gifts. Responsibilities also include managing the planned giving recognition program, The Legacy Society.

- This is a Full-Time exempt position, paying $65,000 – $75,000 annually.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Researches, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of individual donors and other prospects to achieve annual fundraising objectives of $500,000 for individual gifts.
- Conducts a minimum of 100 in person visits annually with key donors.
- Lead marketing of our planned giving program, The Legacy Society.
- Manage planned giving prospects with a planned giving platform and become a member Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York (PPGGNY).
- Develop strategies to target new donors and create a new portfolio of individual donors. Works with Director of Philanthropy, Individual Giving, Manager of Philanthropy, Major Gifts Officers, and Philanthropy Associate, Experience Liaison to develop a strategy for gifts of $100-$4,999.
- Partners with staff, Board, and other internal and external partners to set and achieve goals, produce donor events and materials, and meet budget expectations.
- Conducts monthly meetings with Director of Philanthropy, Individual Giving to review Individual Donor progress.
- Works directly with donors to solicit gifts and build strong community support for programs at God’s Love.
- Manages individual donor events, and individual donor activities at signature events, including planning, and data collection.
- Identifies and implements strategies within the individual donor program to involve donors in fundraising, marketing, and volunteer activities.
- Work with development administrative staff to ensure prompt acknowledgement of all gifts related to individual donors.
- Represents God’s Love to internal and external partners to grow and maintain key relationships.
- Track gifts and maintain accurate records in Raiser’s Edge NXT for all gifts, event attendance and relationships.
- Other duties as assigned.

In addition, the right candidate meets the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of fast-paced nonprofit development experience
- Two to three years of experience personally soliciting individual gifts is essential. Experience working in the individual gift environment that frequently utilizes special events is a plus.

- Available evenings and weekends for donor visits and events as needed.
- Raiser’s Edge NXT and Microsoft Office proficiency are a must.
