For people living with severe illness in the New York City metropolitan area, God’s Love We Deliver provides nutrition therapy, and cooks and home delivers medically tailored meals. We are a non-sectarian organization. All of our services are provided free to clients and full of love.

About the Role

The Key Donor Associate, Major & Individual Giving (KDA) assists in the development and execution of an annual plan to cultivate & solicit individual gifts from both new and existing donors. The KDA also focuses on assisting our Major & Individual Gift Officers by increasing the giving levels of existing donors and assists in expanding our new donor portfolio through research, relationship building and outreach, collaborating with the Development team, Executive team, and Volunteer Leadership committees including the Board of Directors to achieve fundraising goals for individual gifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the developing, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of major & individual donors and other prospects to achieve annual fundraising objective of $2.5M.
  • Assist in administering our major donor program, The Golden Heart Society and planning giving program, The Legacy Society.
  • Assist in the development and execution of ongoing strategies for qualifying individual & major giving prospects and elevating them via small cultivation events, research, and community networking, etc.
  • Support the team, President & CEO, Vice President/Chief Development Officer, Director of Partnerships & Key Donors, Major & Individual Gifts Officers on solicitation strategies, engagement, and stewardship; support the cultivation of internal and external relationships and enhance major donor relationships through support of donor-led initiatives and programs.
  • Facilitate the scheduling of key meetings between the President & CEO, Vice President/Chief Development Officer, and Director of Partnerships & Key Donors with major donor prospects and donors being targeted for an increase in the level of giving.
  • Contribute to management of donor data, records, and reports using Raiser’s Edge & NXT.
  • Manage routine donor communications, including phone and e-mail inquiries, contributions, gift processing issues, special orders, general donor cultivation, and other correspondence as needed.
  • Conduct follow-up with donors regarding gift-processing issues and special orders.
  • Write, edit, and proofread other agency materials as needed (donor emails, newsletter content, Web content, etc.).
  • Work with Finance department to ensure proper tracking of gifts and donor data, and to ensure timely acknowledgment of gifts.
  • Work with Volunteer department to assist with donations and donor cultivation activities as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 In addition, the right candidate meets the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of fast-paced nonprofit development experience
  • Raiser’s Edge NXT and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience working in a development environment that frequently utilizes special events is strongly preferred
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Superior time management skills with the ability to work effectively under deadlines
  • Strategic mindset with an ability to think and focus on both the near- and long-term.
  • The ideal individual adapts to changes in a fast-paced work environment and deals easily with unexpected events.
  • Available on some evenings and weekends for donor visits and events as needed.
