About Us
God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals that a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitians, and clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of its clients. All of the agency’s services are provided free of charge.
About the Role:
The Payroll Manager manages the organization’s payroll process, ensuring that all employees are paid timely and accurately. The Payroll Manager also supports related functions, including maintaining payroll control records, calculating payroll and tax information, and preparing for annual audits. The Payroll Manager has expertise in statutory requirements related to payroll management, providing oversight of every aspect of the payroll function. The Payroll Manager ensures confidentiality and security of all pay data.

- This is a hybrid position allowing for some remote work and requiring regular in-office workdays.
- This is a Full-Time exempt position, paying $75,000 – $90,000 annually.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and process biweekly payroll for all staff, ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration.
- Timely resolve issues related to payroll production.
- Prepare reports including, but not limited to, regular weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports; summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions and non-taxable wages; accrual and other reports to support annual audits.
- Perform routine pay data entry of employment transactions, as needed.
- Upon completion of each payroll, provide Controller with payroll summary information include wages, FICA expenses, etc.
- Work with payroll vendor to ensure all payroll information is in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
- Balance payroll accounts by resolving any payroll discrepancies.
- Stay current on legislation and regulations affecting payroll, ensuring all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Record and input manual checks and voids since last payroll processing.
- File and maintain all payroll registers and other payroll management reports after completion of each payroll.
- Maintain staff time and attendance records including PTO and overtime records.
- Review and process all special payroll transmittals.
- Ensure policies and procedures related to payroll are accurate and up to date; support the development of new SOPs.
- Safeguard employee confidentiality.

In addition, the right candidate meets the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree; degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
- Minimum of 6 years of experience independently managing payroll
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Strong proficiency with HRIS systems; experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
- Experience creating reports including regular weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and annual reports
- Experience providing payroll information to support regulatory and financial audits
- Proficiency in Finance ERP; experience with NetSuite preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Superior attention to detail
- Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team and independently
- Superior time management skills with the ability to work effectively and accurately under deadlines
- Excellent communications skills, with demonstrated ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders with diplomacy, tact, and discretion
