God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, and clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of our clients. All of our services are provided free of charge to clients.
About the Role:
The Sanitation Lead plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, food safety, and quality standards of our kitchen and operations. This position involves supervising the sanitation and porter teams, enforcing strict hygiene protocols, and contributing to our commitment to exceptional service.

- This is a Full-Time non-exempt position, paying $26.00 hourly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Sanitation Lead plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, food safety, and quality standards of our kitchen and operations. This position involves supervising the sanitation and porter teams, enforcing strict hygiene protocols, and contributing to our commitment to exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanitation Oversight:

- Lead the sanitation team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen and production areas.
- Develop and enforce sanitation protocols, including the cleaning and sanitization of equipment, utensils, and kitchen surfaces.
- Monitor and maintain a clean and organized work environment to meet food safety requirements.
Quality Assurance:

- Collaborate with the Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager to maintain and enhance food safety standards.
- Assist in regular quality audits and inspections.
- Ensure adherence to all food safety regulations and practices.
Food Safety:
-
- Train sanitation and porter teams on proper food safety handling techniques.
- Oversee the implementation of food safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report any safety issues, violations, or unsafe conditions to management.
Team Oversight:

- Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members to ensure a high level of performance.
- Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
Inventory and Supplies:

- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate orders for sanitation and cleaning materials.
- Ensure that inventory levels are maintained for uninterrupted sanitation services.
Compliance and Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records related to sanitation schedules, cleaning logs, and food safety documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
- Assist in the preparation for health inspections and follow up on any identified deficiencies.
About You:

In addition, the right candidate meets the following requirements:
- Working knowledge of industrial kitchen equipment, such as ovens, blast chillers, and kettles.
- Minimum three years’ experience in Kitchen Sanitation.
- Experience managing a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of food and safety regulations while carrying out kitchen duties.
- Maintains Food Protection certification.
- Knowledge of chemical usage, chemical storage and automated dispensing systems.
- Knowledge of equipment in the Sanitation area; familiar with breaking down equipment and ensuring proper cleaning and sanitizing.
- Experience working with chemical, cleaning, and pest control suppliers.
- Experience creating and maintaining Sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs).
- Experience overseeing third-party Kitchen inspections.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- HACCP certification
