Sponsorship Intern (Paid Position)

The Food Network & Cooking Channel New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by Capital One (“NYCWFF”)  is NYC’s largest wine and food festival raising funds to support New Yorkers affected by severe illness and food poverty. NYCWFF features close to 80 events throughout four days attracting over 50,000 consumers and over 500 world-renowned chefs, culinary personalities, winemakers, spirits producers, trade and industry professionals.

100% of the Festival’s net proceeds benefit two hunger relief organizations; God’s Love We Deliver and Food Bank For New York City. Having raised over $13.8MM to date, NYCWFF is gearing up to plan another successful event which will be held October 14-17, 2021.

God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitians, and all clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of its clients. All of the agency’s services are provided free of charge.

About the Role

The Sponsorship intern will be a part of the core team supporting the functionality and operation behind the Festival.  The internship will provide the intern the opportunity to experience the inner workings of the Festival, day-to-day tasks, exposure to relationship management, data tracking, and the massive operation behind producing one of the largest wine and food Festival’s in the nation.

This is a paid internship with God’s Love We Deliver supporting the New York City Wine and Food Festival (NYCWFF) The intern must be available to work (35 hours per week) May– October 2021 and must be available [8am – 11pm] the week of the Festival itself: October 13-17,, 2021.



Position Objectives and Expectations

  • Sales support including but not limited to drafting/reviewing proposals & contracts, company research, and other ad hoc tasks to prepare for the Festival sponsorship sales period.
  • Support in maintaining the department’s Sponsor/ Participant tracking document and provide support across multiple teams.
  • Help in the creation of informational packets for sponsors participating at various events.
  • Development of sales assets for the year and maintaining those assets.
  • Ensure accuracy of the website and keep continuous communication with website manager in order to make changes, updates, etc.
  • Assist with organizing signage needs, proofing signage, and communicating edits and approvals to editors.
  • Help with the maintenance of online forms for sponsors.
  • Assist with maintaining the master contact list for all sponsor contacts.
  • Help collect and organize sponsor information for speaking & photography grids.
  • Attendance on weekly calls/meetings and note-taking for all sponsorship-specific calls.
  • Event assistance during the weekend of the Festival (Oct. 13 – 17, 2021) which will include interacting with sponsors, assisting in sponsor setup and breakdown, photo-documenting of sponsor activations, etc. Depending on COVID restrictions at the time of the Festival, this assistance may be onsite and/or virtual.


About You:

You have a passion for food, wine, and the NYC dining scene, and the desire to learn the ins and outs of sponsorship programs for large-format events and Festivals.  You enjoy seeing all of your hard work come to fruition.  In addition, you are highly self-motivated and empathetic, a ‘people person’ with a strong desire to support the mission of God’s Love We Deliver. You thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


In addition, the right candidate meets the following requirements:

  • Available from May– October 2021 (must be available October 13-17, during NYCWFF)
  • One year experience in sales, hospitality, or marketing (internships acceptable)
  • Based in NYC (remote applicants may be considered)
  • Possess a genuine interest in learning about brand partnerships, event activation, and account management.
  • Innovative, highly organized, independent, attention to detail, and a creative self-starter who is comfortable prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
