About God’s Love We Deliver

For people living with severe illness in the New York City metropolitan area, God’s Love We Deliver provides nutrition therapy, and cooks and home delivers medically tailored meals. We are a non-sectarian organization. All of our services are provided free to clients and full of love.

About the Role

The Temporary Special Events Coordinator helps support internal and external event production including events in our Fifth Floor event space, third-party/partner events, and non- signature special events. The Temporary Special Events Coordinator also helps support internal God’s Love events and meetings. The Coordinator also assists with fulfillment of sales through the God’s Love Catalogue.  This position is a full-time temporary position ending on January 31, 2024.

  • This is a hybrid position allowing for some remote work and requiring regular in-office workdays.
  • This is a Temporary Full-Time non-exempt position, paying $25.00 hourly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help support the execution of all event space internal and external event productions, working closely with the Manager of Meetings and Events.
  • Help support the execution of all non-signature fundraising events and projects including but not limited to Partner Events (e.g., Douglas Elliman Ride for Love), Cultivation Events (e.g., Culinary Council, Legacy Society, genLOVE, Leadership dinners, Young Hearts) and God’s Love internal celebration events (e.g., World AIDS Day, Staff Enrichment Day, Staff Holiday Party, Volunteer Party, FIMIC, Department meetings).
  • Coordinate and create events in Blackbaud Create/update event participant records for attendance, registration, etc. Run event income and expense reports.
  • Coordinate, update, and monitor departmental tracking spreadsheets for attendance, revenue, and expenses related to all event space and assisted
  • Help source product for events, developing relationships with vendors to secure donated products whenever possible.
  • Attend all events to support the Director and departmental “day of”
  • Support Events Associate with the fulfillment of catalogue sales and year-round brownie sales and requests.
  • Prepare facility service requests, check requests, consultant agreements, billing for customers, in-kind documentation, vendor purchase orders and departmental supplies and filing.
  • Support internal departments to meet agency requirements for timely execution of actions supporting our mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You:

You are a highly-motivated self-starter, creative, organized, resourceful and enthusiastic who also has a love for events.  You are looking for a collaborative, team-oriented environment, and you are energized by seeing all your hard work come to fruition.

In addition, you meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the Special Events field. Experience with food and/or non-profit is a plus
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule, working on evenings, weekends, and holidays as
  • Ability to integrate into teams smoothly and understand requirements quickly.
  • Demonstrate a high level of reliability, organization, and follow-through.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, intercultural, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to frequently lift, move, up to 50 pounds, as well as stand for long periods of time while performing duties for this position.
