About Us
God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, and clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of our clients. All of our services are provided free of charge to clients.
About the Role:
God’s Love We Deliver is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals to individuals who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves. We are seeking a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to assist with recruiting, training, managing & recognizing the efforts of our volunteers. This is a full-time onsite position in our New York City offices. This position is a Saturday through Wednesday schedule.

- This is a Full-Time exempt position, paying $63,000-$65,000 annually.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain Volunteer Service descriptions for each volunteer assignment within our volunteer management platform
- Ensure volunteer shifts are adequately staffed according to department needs
- Recommend the most efficient use of volunteers, appropriate volunteer/supervisory mix, and future workforce needs to support volunteer program operations
- Conduct and/or arrange for volunteer orientation and training daily
- Organize, assist and participate in volunteer parties and and other special events
- Evaluate all aspects of volunteer programs to ensure effectiveness and to recommend/implement changes as appropriate
- Maintain accurate records in volunteer management platform and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation.
- Host and attend recruiting events within the community to attract qualified volunteer candidates
- Develop and maintain relationships with other volunteer organizations within the area
- Provide ongoing support and guidance for volunteers
- Ensure all volunteers understand, and are heeding, volunteer work requirements and the volunteer code of conduct
- Serve as a liason for cross functional departments as assigned by volunteer department management
- Analyze data within volunteer management platform to identify trends and recommend associated actions.
- Assist in planning for God’s Love’s major events including the holidays by defining volunteer needs, sourcing extra recruits and managing the project in Volunteer Hub
- Develop volunteer communication materials and guidelines to be used for events sponsored by God’s Love
- Represent the agency at events sponsored by God’s Love and its outside affiliates/partners
- Contribute articles to the God’s Love’s volunteer special delivery website
- Available to work weekend shifts, including Saturdays and Sundays, is required.
- Must be able to work evenings and holidays as required.

In addition, the right candidate meets the following requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Customer Service Environment.
- Supervisory experience preferred; experience supervising a volunteer workforce a strong plus.
- Must have strong interpersonal communications skills, demonstrating cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of constituents.
- Must have strong presentation skills and be comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
- Team player committed to the mission of God’s Love We Deliver.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in VolunteerHub a strong plus.
