The mission of God's Love We Deliver is to improve the health and well-being of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. We prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to people who, because of their illness, are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves. We also provide illness-specific nutrition education and counseling to our clients, families, care providers and other service organizations.
All of our services are provided free of charge without regard to income.
Watch God's Love We Deliver at work, cooking and home-delivering 1.7 million meals a year.
On September 28, God's Love marked an important milestone as we cooked, packed and delivered our 20 millionth meal. We are so proud of this achievement. A lot has changed since that day, 32 years ago, when one woman on a bicycle delivered a meal to a friend dying of AIDS. Today, our expanded SoHo headquarters allows us to cook and deliver more than 1.7 million meals annually to thousands of clients. We have broadened our mission to serve those living with more than 200 unique diagnoses. But one thing has remained constant -- our commitment to providing individually tailored, nutritious meals to the most vulnerable among us, free of charge, without a waiting list, and most importantly, with love. Because we believe that food is love and food is medicine. Thank you for helping us reach this historic milestone, and we look forward to 20 million more! Watch our video of the celebration here.
At God’s Love We Deliver, we are committed to maintaining the highest possible standard of food safety for our clients living with severe illness. It’s important to our staff, our volunteers, and our clients to know that every single one of the thousands of meals produced in our kitchen each year has been prepared with a commitment to quality, nutrition and love. We all deserve a little something special on our birthday. At God's Love We Deliver we bake over 2,000 birthday cakes for our clients every year! Every cake is baked with fresh, wholesome ingredients. Our baker, Chuck, puts every client's name on their cake.
With the rising cost of ingredients, you can help our Birthday Celebration at God's Love by joining our Birthday Bake Sale! You and your friends can sponsor one, two, or more birthday cakes for $10 each, and we will make sure that thousands of New Yorkers living with serious illnesses don't feel alone on their birthday.
