On Thursday, September 18, the Tribeca Film Institute hosted a benefit screening of Joan Rivers's critically acclaimed documentary "Joan Rivesr: A Piece of Work."

God's Love We Deliver joins countless others in mourning the passing of comedian, talk show host, author and God's Love Board member Joan Rivers. Joan has been a beloved friend of God's Love for over 25 years, and a member of the Board of Directors since 1994. We send our deepest condolences to her daughter Melissa and grandson Cooper.
"Today we are heartbroken. We join our community and the rest of the world in mourning the passing of our dear friend and Board member Joan Rivers," says Karen Pearl, President & CEO of God's Love We Deliver. "Joan was one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable. She will be sorely missed for her brilliant humor and insightful view on life, but most especially for the kindness and joy she brought to everything she did for God's Love and our clients. We send our love to Melissa and Cooper who are special members of the God's Love family."
The impact that Joan had on God's Love will be felt always by our clients, volunteers, staff and community. Rest in peace, Joan. You are forever in our hearts.

On July 13, 2014, God's Love worked with over 60 volunteers who built 2,300 Blackout Bags for our clients. These are bags filled with non-perishable food items that we deliver in advance in the rare event that we are unable to deliver due to a blackout or other emergency. We are grateful to our volunteers who worked so hard to bring nutritious food and comfort to our clients!
We'd like to give a huge thank you to our dear friend, volunteer and #genLOVE member Jason Patrick, aka Bearded Yogi, for coordinating the day's activities (and festivities!) and to all of the people, many of them first-time volunteers, who came from all over New York City to fill our emergency bags in record time – just 2 hours flat!

Our dear friends at Gramercy Tavern are great supporters of our work. At this year's Authors In Kind, chef, author and Union Square Hospitality Group CEO Danny Meyer spoke of his connection to God’s Love, which extends back to the beginning of the AIDS pandemic, more than 25 years ago. He shared the importance of cooking for others and sharing a meal; that food can be medicine, and food is love. Now Gramercy Tavern has released a cookbook that highlights the food they create and share: food for family and friends. This is something that we at God's Love believe in. Please watch their promotional video!
