I have only been a client for a short time I am an amputee and on dialysis .the food and service is great .I was very surprised to receive a birthday cake on my birthday.many thanks and bless all involved.- bart
My husband has advanced Parkinson's with all the challenges that entails. Cooking and shopping for him had become a real burden for me (a senior citizen). GLWD was able to offer food prepared so that he can eat it (minced and pureed). It is delicious and he really does enjoy his meals. It is helping to keep his weight up. In addition GLWD is delivering meals to me, his caregiver which has helped relieve a lot of my daily stress. You are all wonderful!!- Carol G
woke up this morning with the blues staying in bed all day to snooze this date used to be great every year i couldn't wait there used to be family and friend today trying to comprehend why it all had to end everyone is gone and yet i pretend someone new might have cause to take a moment of pause and acknowledge my birthday this sad grey day then suddenly all became gay glwd arrived with a special birthday cake didn't immediately partake took some moments to reflect about this overwhelming effect glwd not only brings us food they also know to include our spirit soul food thank you for remembering my special place now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna stuff my face- forest hills senior
I just wanted to send my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Gods Love We Deliver. My father had a heart attack and needed a lot of support when he got home from the hospital. I was so worried about him cooking and eating properly. I live 100 miles away and could only do so much. Gods Love We Deliver was incredibly kind and helpful during that difficult time. The meals were delicious and nutritious and filling. The tilapia was Dad's favorite! The service was top notch. It was good to know that kind hearted and caring folks were delivering the meals- always on time! Thank you so very much to the entire team...you really make a huge difference during a tough time!- Gabrielle
I just want to thank everyone involved with GLWD. The food has been outstanding, and the volunteer's that deliver have been very friendly and nice. They always have smiles on, no matter the weather. I do not know what I would do without GLWD.- Chris
GLWD IS TRULY A GODSEND!! I have gotten 3rd and 2nd degree burns because I suffer from frequent random syncope (blackout) episodes. I burned some of my hair while trying to cook a meal for myself. Since then, I haven't been able to cook at all. There where days when I would go without eating. I did not qualify for most of the meal programs similar to GLWD because I am not a senior citizen. I explained my situation to one of GLWD's kind representatives and they started delivering healthy meals to me sooner than I expected! They even took the time to give me tips on eating healthier and the kind of meals I would receive from them. This is the first organization that I have dealt with that gave me the feeling that they really care, and that means so much to me! I just want to say thanks so much, from the bottom of my heart, for the meals, and for caring.- Shemaine R.
I'm amazed at this site!!!! You helped my family so much!!! in the late 80's thank you so much for all that you do!!! infinite blessings to you all!!!!- D
I have been a Client for over a year now, The food is delicious, portions are generous, the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Black out packages are just perfect, it really blesses my holiday, I'm sickly uses oxygen 24/7, uses a cane so there is not much I can do, My husband who is also disabled manages to make breakfast for two of us. We share my daily meals that are delivered from GLWD which makes life for us easier. Today is my birthday my husband went to the door for the delivery and came back with a cake for me personalized with my name on it I cried I was so happy and thankful I just had to write and let you know what a wonderful organization GLWD is, and I thank God everyday for you do for me and my husband. Sincerely Ms. E. Gaither- E. Gaither
Today is my birthday.Exactly one year ago to the day I started chemo and ended up in the hospital with severe neutropenia. Luckily I survived and today, one year later is my birthday. I am getting stronger. But I cried my heart out today when the deliveryman brought me a decorated cake with my name and the most heartfelt card from a child. It just made my whole, difficult year a little sweeter and I can look forward to my future with a lighter heart. Thank you beyond my deepest appreciation.- Roberta
I have been a client of Gods Love for a little over a year now. I found them online after a friend told me about them. I looked the site up and applied. I am happy I did. Being on a limited budget makes it very hard for me to eat healthy as I love to and struggling with an illness makes it hard to get my needs met. With the help of God's Love I have more food in my home and eat better and my health has improved a great deal. I am so thankful for them. I love how they greet and take care of us . God's Love is always there when I need them. Thank you for caring the way you do.- Brian E.
On Thanksgiving morning volunteers from God's Love came to bring me a Thanksgiving meal as well as a gift basket; the first thing they said (as one) was "Happy Thanksgiving". The smiles on the faces showed that they didn't consider what they were doing on Thanksgiving morning a burden. The bag which held the food was decorated with hugs and kisses (this touched my heart) drawn by a youngster (an angel). Before they left they told me God bless you! After which I returned a greeting of God bless you! Being a Christian I've said God bless you and received a God bless you greeting many times, but this is one I'll remember; God did bless me this Thanksgiving! Thank you God's Love We Deliver. - C.. You are giving me back my health which is the greatest gift I could receive. I no longer feel disabled or debilitated.- Tony
When I opened the door today and saw the happy smiling face of the corporate volunteer who brought me the gift basket and turkey dinner I just was speechless. This year has been so hard and I' ve been alone. I didn't have anyone to share Thanksgiving with...and I cried all day with the thoughts of kindness and healing being sent my way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope to be strong enough soon to prepare my own food and I don't know how I would have gotten through the surgery, chemo and radiation by myself and the food I needed. Bless you all.- Roberta
For the last 7 12 years, I have been a dialysis patient. When I was diagnosed with kidney disease, my employers fired me upon my return from the hospital. Having also gone through a divorce just several years before this, unemployment did not cover my monthly expenses, let alone have enough disposable income to buy healthy food. I would either skip meals, have a slice of pizza, buy something from the Dollar Menu at McD's or resort to a 25 cent package of Ramen Noodles. Since I began dialysis, I have also had to have Triple Bypass surgery, Gall Bladder removal surgery and on a torn muscle in my knee. I am now at the point where I can no longer get into the kitchen to cook as I can't stand very long. GLWD has been a guardian angel to me. To have a healthy, home-cooked, hot meal made me feel like a kid again when my mom would make meals. I was eating vegetables (never bothered to do that on my own) and having something different to eat almost every night. Today was Thanksgiving and, right on time, my doorbell rang and I was treated not only to a delicious turkey dinner (and I really mean delicious!) but a basket full of treats! What a surprise - never would have expected you going the extra mile to make us feel special. Thank you so very much.- Barbara
A little more than one year ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer at the junction of the stomach and esophagus. Throughout chemotherapy and radiation, your nutritious meals and staff and volunteers have been a wonderful source of strength and hope during this challenging period. My physicians attribute my good blood test results to be a direct result of your wonderfully-prepared food. I was considered to be in remission as recently as one month ago. Something developed two weeks ago that is currently being investigated. During this period of uncertainty and stress, I experienced your bountiful Thanksgiving feast and birthday wishes. All of this cheer has helped to keep me grounded in faith that I will recover at some point in the near future. Gratefully, ~ Jim F.- Jim F.
I've been your client for some time now and now I feel like it's time to move on. You helped me so much during and after my breast cancer treatment and recovery, and I think I can begin preparing my own meals again. I especially want to thank you for your kindness and accommodation. I spoke to so many people there in your department and Nutrition and everyone was always so open and caring. I also want to thank those delivery people and volunteers who called me ahead of time so that I was ready when they arrived with my meals. That was so considerate of them and it meant a lot to me. With a few exceptions I really enjoyed the meals and I just want to be sure that you let everyone know how much everything your program did for me was helpful and greatly appreciated. Thank you so much."- Heather
From my first phone contact with your friendly staff, on through our latest delivery by a pair of cheesy volunteers on Thanksgiving Day, GLWD has eased our lives and filled our bellies. Your meals are nutritious and generous. Thursday's menu was outstanding and the gift basket was a delightful addition - as was the very special shopping bag! With heartfelt thanks.- A.S.
I usually spend my birthdays alone and wondering what to do with myself, but this year I got a birthday cake and a card from you and that changed my whole day. Thank you so much. It was so great! I really appreciate that you thought of me. Client since 10/22/09.- A client since Oct. 2009
