God's Love We Deliver

Our Thursday afternoon baking shift is definitely a bright spot in our week! And one of those shining stars is our volunteer Joe Sheehan, who's been with us since we added the shift two years ago. Joe is always in a good mood and ready to roll up his sleeves. We're so grateful for all his time and energy and are incredibly happy to have him in the God's Love family. His fellow volunteer Shane, who he introduced to God's Love, has this to say about Joe: “Joe is the consummate professional. He’s smart, sweet, and funny. When I introduce him to people, they’re like, ‘Who was that – Jesus?’ He’s the one who introduced me to God’s Love We Deliver!”
Our Thursday volunteer Joe
Name: Joe Sheehan
Occupation: Licensed Real Estate Salesperson for Bond New York. I am also a Certified Negotiation Expert. Using my previous background in interior design, I am able to look at space with both a creative and critical eye, whether it is staging a home for clients selling their homes, so as to obtain an optimum sale price or identifying the potential of a home for buyers and showing them how it has the potential to suit all their stated needs.
Volunteer Shift: I am very fortunate to be part of the Thursday 4:00-6:00PM baking shift from its inception two years ago and have made many dear friends in the process
Volunteering since: 2012
How did you find out about God's Love? I knew about God's Love through its many great efforts and its dedication to not only the gay community, but all those who need assistance while dealing with illness. When my partner Jim and I lost his wonderful mother Sophie, I wanted to do something to honor her life and continue the many good deeds she did with such grace and humility throughout her life. It is my way of saying thank you to her for all the love and joy she brought to my life.
What do you love most about volunteering? I am just a very small part of an incredible and well run organization and am thrilled about being a very small part of such a wonderful organization that puts love above all else.
What do you like to do when you're not volunteering? I love to read, go to the movies taking walks with my partner and our beautiful dog Charlie.
Favorite place in NYC: Central Park... any season
Dream vacation destination: Amalfi Coast
And finally... hairnet or hat??? Definitely a hat... baseball cap specifically. While I appreciate and often use the hairnets (if I forget to bring a hat), they are just not a good look on anyone.
