God's Love We Deliver

Tuesday afternoons are always a little brighter when our volunteer Paul is around. He has a great sense of humor and works hard for our clients - a killer combo! Staff member Gerald sings his praises: "Paul is full of attitude! Thankfully, it's the best kind. He's got a great eye for detail and always makes sure we're on point and having fun. Or at least I am. I can't stop laughing around him. He's never short on jokes, opinions and mints!" Thanks, Paul, for all you do for God's Love!

Name: Paul W. Hatten Jr.
Volunteer Shift: Tuesday afternoon
Volunteering since: On and off since 1996
How did you find out about God's Love? I don't remember; must have read about it somewhere
Favorite thing about volunteering: It should be a requirement for all permanent volunteers to work one day as a van assistant. Once you see the faces of our clients, you realize what the mission is all about. It makes you want to do your very best while preparing the food for them and ensure they get the correct meal each time.
What do you like to do when you're not here? When I started with God's Love, I was working full time. Now I'm retired and I like to take weekend getaways and movies and hanging out with friends and family and enjoying all the great parks around the city. Also, my mother is in a nursing home and it's like having a small child...
Favorite place in NYC: Fort Tryon Park. I can meditate while looking at the Hudson River Valley. Love it!
What's something about yourself that people would be surprised to find out? That I am a great grandfather!
What's the one thing you'd bring with you on a desert island? Movies from the 1940's
And finally... hairnet or hat??? Hairnet because it's clean!
