God's Love We Deliver
166 Avenue of the Americas

Féline Lo is one of our volunteers who is doubly amazing because contributes her time on two different shifts. In addition to her weekly kitchen stint, ladling and chopping alongside her Friday friends, she's also a talented graphic designer who helps the agency with a variety of projects. You've probably seen her awesome food safety poster all over the kitchen and in the lounge! Manager of Communications, Emmett Findley has this to say about Féline: "Féline is amazing! her design work is thoughtful and creative and it's always great to work with her. She brings a lot of energy to her designs and I'm always so happy and excited to see what she can do. Thank you, Féline!"
Feline and her amazing food safety poster!
Name: Féline Lo
Occupation: Art Director
Volunteer Shift: Graphic Design help and Friday morning kitchen shift from 6:30am-8:30am
Volunteering since: November 2012 for Graphic Design and March 2013 for kitchen prep (I just passed my 1-year anniversary for kitchen work - yay!)
How did you find out about God's Love? A friend of mine told me about it (thanks Michele V!). At the time, there was a waiting list for kitchen prep so I signed up for graphic design work (because any help counts, right?) and started in the kitchen a few months later.
What's your favorite thing about volunteering? Can I pick more than one? I love volunteer work with immediate results and that is what you feel at God's Love. I know that the thousand meals I help pack that day will go directly to someone who needs it and that's so fulfilling. Plus, as a food lover, I definitely appreciate how well-made all the meals are. I also never imagined so many of my fellow volunteers would be such amazing people. Everyone is so well-rounded, well-traveled and interesting in so many ways. The conversations that go on during each shift are the absolute best (we talk about music, art, theater, traveling and cooking of course).
What do you like to do outside of God's Love? I love eating delicious food! So I cook a lot to support my eating habits, as well as trying new restaurants. Plus I love to have dinner parties for my friends at home (because if there's a better way to say "I love you" than feeding people, I haven't found it :)). In between cooking and eating, I read and travel, so I can try other countries' cuisines of course :).
Favorite place in NYC: Central Park hands down. It truly is the lungs of the city. I really don't know what we would do without it. Central Park is so beautiful during all the seasons of the year, even in the winter! If you haven't seen the park when it's snowing out, then you haven't really seen it. Because it is absolutely breathtaking and quiet to the point that you can actually hear the snow hitting the ground. Even during the busy summer afternoons, you can either people watch or find a quiet corner to read your favorite book. It's like having your own backyard in the middle of this crazy city except it happens to be one of the best urban parks in the world.
Best thing you've ever eaten: I know it's cliche to say, but my mom makes the BEST Bun Bo Hue in the world. It's a popular spicy beef noodle dish in Vietnam (fortunately, pho is only one in the hundreds of our amazing noodle dishes).
And finally... what's the one thing you'd bring with you on a desert island??? Probably a "How to Survive on a Desert Island" book
