This cow will be “grazing” at the Industry City – Brooklyn Pasture
FIT Student Project
Designers Diana Rico, Fean Manthachitra, Gordon Qu, and Heejeong Kim flew into action to create Cowleidoscope. From design to fabrication, the talented Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design seniors at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) created their cow within three months. Inspired by the rejuvenation of the city post covid, Cowleidoscope represents hope and renewal of spirit through the use of materials and the symbolism of the dragonfly.
Cowleidoscope is adorned with beautiful iridescent wings encased in silver frames donated by the very generous MS Signs Inc. Accents of holographic material shine on the horns and tail. The head and body of the cow are decorated with gems to attract viewers to take a closer look. The cow is painted a dreamy blue, purple, and pink gradient and sealed with holographic glitter to invite the playfulness of light.
The young designers are thrilled to have had the opportunity to be a part of the Cow Parade 2021 thanks to God’s Love We Deliver, David Stark Studio, and FIT.
