About Adama Coulibaly
Adama is an African Artist & Designer based in New York. His artwork is entitled Infinite Amulet. And it is an interpretation of the moment he found the breadth of my character despite the harsh circumstances of my upbringing in the Ivory Coast. Much as in this painting, he would never have been able to achieve a level of depth if he had not found the colors to place over the darkness of my childhood. His artistic endeavors often represent the singular moment when, like a rushing tide of water, love and gratitude flooded his heart: the first moment he was able to breathe out the childish miasma of anger. To Adama, expression is exhalation, and he finds joy in simply living. He paints to express an Infinite world that lives within him, and to deliver a message of love and adventure that allows his heart to breathe. His current collection aligns his transition from a dark past in Ivory Coast with what he has become today.
Many things inspired Adama to make this cow come to life with his style of work. While designing this cow he was remembering all the struggles; language barriers, and having difficulties transitioning into the American culture in early 2012 when he first arrived in the United States. The white dots are the symbols of journey through the unknown and the colors are to define you as an infinite being who can do and become anything.
