Rain couldn't dampen the spirits of the more than 300 guests who attended our 15th Annual Midsummer Night Drinks benefiting God's Love at the home of Richard and Marcia Mishaan.
Guests bid on God's Love program items such as funding meals for one year for a person living with HIV/AIDS or meals for a mother living with breast cancer and her children for six month. Actor, producer, director and philanthropist, Tamara Tunie led this rousing and inspiring auction to the crowd's delight.
The event came just a week and a half after the historic dedication and ribbon cutting of the new Michael Kors Building at God's Love We Deliver, our expanded and renovated building we have been constructing for almost two years at our headquarters at Spring Street and Sixth Avenue.
Delicious butlered hors d'oeuvres such as julienned summer vegetables, mini fish tacos and peking duck were catered by Canard, Inc. along with a variety of one-bite seafood dishes and barbeque dishes. Finally, guests enjoyed delicious mini desserts such as macaron ice cream sandwiches and strawberry shortcake. DJ Rumor DJ'ed the event.
Guests left the beautiful evening with homemade brownies, baked with love by Chuck the Baker, who has been the baker for God's Love for nearly 25 years.
