A Remarkable Legacy: God’s Love Volunteer, Richard “Buzz” Koontz
In 2009, God’s Love received a remarkable legacy gift from a long-time Tuesday kitchen volunteer, Richard “Buzz” Koontz. Buzz, who passed away in 2008, left a bequest to God’s Love We Deliver of over $1,000,000. That year, God’s Love celebrated Buzz Koontz’s energy, caring spirit and wonderful legacy with some of his close friends and fellow volunteers at a special reception.
One of the guests said of Buzz, “In the last years of his life, nothing made Buzz happier than coming to God’s Love to work with his new friends. This became a second family to him and gave him such great joy.”
Buzz Koontz’s extraordinary gift means so much to everyone at God’s Love, but especially to the men and women living with life-altering illnesses who will directly benefit from his incredible caring and generosity.
Getting Started
Each year bequests and planned gifts of all sizes (whether $1,000 or $1,000,000, and more) are a vital source of revenue that helps God’s Love evolve our services and meet the growing demand for our unique program of meals and nutrition counseling. While planning for the future may seem like a daunting task, it’s much easier than many people realize to create a legacy that will benefit future generations of people living with life-altering illnesses.
