The peace symbol continues as it has since its origin to connote wholeness, universality and the never-ending yearning for resolution to troubling issues on every level, and in the broadest sense, for peace on earth. This lovely rendition reaffirms what matters most to us all.

In March, 2017, 2,800 people filled every seat in New York City's historic Beacon Theatre for the first-ever God's Love We Deliver rock concert. Superstar actor and musician Bruce Willis opened the show and was followed by 35 other rock headliners including five-time Grammy Award-winner Michael MacDonald, all under the direction of CBS Orchestra bass player, Will Lee, accompanied by his friend, David Letterman's musical director Paul Shaffer, and their amazing musical colleagues. None other than Bill Murray joined in to delight the crowd as the surprise host. You and your friends are invited to view highlights on YouTube, Love Rocks NYC!

Every year more than 10,000 volunteers come to help us prepare, package and deliver more than one million urgently needed meals for clients. Our good friend, Art Glazer, illustrates the essence of our mission and the real work it takes in a series of drawings we are so happy to offer. Art’s cards are always favorites.

Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney and Keith Haring are among the many well-known
and well-loved artists who have supported God's Love since its founding 32 years ago. Mr. Lichtenstein's artwork is iconic, ground-breaking and recognized the world over at the highest levels as superlative examples of Pop art. We are, once again this year, deeply grateful to the Estate of Roy Lichtenstein for permission to offer this artwork, which was used for a 1964 MOMA exhibition, "American Supermarket."

The use of holly as a decoration around the time of the winter solstice dates back thousands of years. The Druids regarded holly as a symbol with magical powers of fertility and eternal life that would bring good luck and protection. Romans associated holly with Saturn, the god of agriculture and harvest, and decorated with its boughs during the December festival of Saturnalia. Our wonderful friend, the enormously talented, Tony Award-winning Broadway costume designer, William Ivey Long, contributed an artwork exclusively for God's Love We Deliver.

For aficionados, this Chevy pick-up probably dates from 1954. Still looking great 63 years later, there are likely more than a few of these sturdy Chevy pickups on the road in the 21st century picking up and delivering small loads. These days, God's Love uses refrigerated vans of much more recent vintage to deliver meals to 7,000 grateful clients in our 450 square-mile service area. But for the sake of the good old days, send this truck to family and friends to let them know you wish them a very happy holiday season. A load of love in a cool, red 50's Chevy rolling on white-walled tires. Fun!

Abe Lebewohl, known to everyone as "Abie," came to the U.S. from Lvov, Poland in 1950 when he was 19, and took his first job as a soda jerk in a Coney Island deli, where he learned the secrets of superb pastrami and other traditional Jewish delicacies. Abie's is a story about the stuff and substance of a real New Yorker, who made huge sandwiches, had a huge heart, and is remembered to this day for his boundless charity. Abie fed every homeless person who walked into the deli hungry, gave away mountains of food to whomever and wherever he could help. Matt Weber, who, along with his mother, delivered God's Love meals in its earliest days, and this year donated this wonderful photograph to share with you.
