On Thursday, November 23, we were joined by leadership, friends, and supporters to help prepare then deliver Thanksgiving meals to our clients who are living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-altering illnesses. More than 5,000 Thanksgiving meals were home-delivered that morning thanks to the help of more than 1,000 volunteers.
Because we believe that no one should have to spend the holidays alone, in addition to feeding our clients, their children and caregivers, God’s Love also offers each client a guest meal, delivered in a hand-decorated bag, so that they can invite a friend or family member to join them.
See below for this year's menu:
Pumpkin Bisque Soup; Roast Turkey with Cornbread Stuffing and Mushroom Gravy; Sweet Potato Mash; Parsnips, Brussels Sprouts, Carrots, and Pearl Onions; Cranberry Sauce; Apple Crisp
We also serveed a vegetarian entrée: root vegetable casserole, as well as minced and pureed Thanksgiving meals, for clients whose medical conditions require those modifications. View photos from the day here.
