About Us

God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, and clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of our clients. All of our services are provided free of charge to clients.

About the Role:

The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) provides medical nutrition therapy, nutrition education and counseling to our clients, their families, and caregivers to address individual needs. In addition to providing direct care to individuals with cancer and other diagnoses, the RDN will coordinate education opportunities for people living with cancer who comprise more than 10% of our clientele and serve as a resource for other professional staff.  

The RDN also provides outreach to hard-to-reach and under-served communities through nutrition workshops, and education materials, and works with our Culinary and Program Teams to ensure quality services.

  • This is a hybrid position allowing for some remote work and requiring 4 regular in-office workdays.
  • This is a Full-Time exempt position, paying $70,000-$74,000 annually.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess nutritional status and develop comprehensive nutrition care plan for clients with a range of severe illnesses including cancer, HIV, and diabetes. 
  • Plan and track dietary modifications to relieve specific nutrition-related symptoms associated with illnesses, prescription drugs, and food intake requirements and restrictions.  
  • Design and implement nutrition education for various cancer populations including written materials, workshops and social media.  
  • Assist with research to build the Food as Medicine movement and write and contribute to God’s Love publications.  
  • Precepts dietetic interns as part of a Community Nutrition rotation.  
  • Other duties as assigned.  

About You:

You are highly self-motivated and empathetic, with a strong desire to provide support to clients living with a serious illness. You are looking for a collaborative, team-oriented environment, and you are energized by providing nutrition education to clients with varied medical conditions.

In addition, you meet the following requirements: 

  • MS in Nutrition Science with an emphasis on community nutrition, public health and/or nutrition education. 
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) – maintenance of current registration required. 
  • A minimum of five years related experience in the field of nutrition or dietetics. 
  • Experience counseling and developing care plans for people with cancer; CSO certification is strongly preferred.  
  • Expertise in designing and facilitating group nutrition education trainings, both in-person and virtually. 
  • Superior attention to detail. 
  • Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team and independently. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
