The Board of Directors is the policy making body of God’s Love We Deliver and has fiduciary responsibility for the health of the organization. Our Board members participate actively in setting strategic direction and advancing our goals. Board members have the following responsibilities: governance, fundraising and serving as an organizational ambassador.
God’s Love We Deliver is the New York City metropolitan area’s leading provider of nutritious, individually-tailored meals to people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves.
Founded in 1985 when one woman began delivering food on her bicycle to a man dying from AIDS, God’s Love now cooks more than 10,000 meals each weekday, delivering them to clients living with life-altering illnesses in all five boroughs of New York City, Westchester and Nassau Counties, and Hudson County, New Jersey. All of our services are provided free of charge to our clients, their children and to the senior caregivers of our senior clients, without regard to income, and we have never maintained a waiting list.
God’s Love We Deliver is a non-sectarian organization, providing meals with the strong belief of “food as medicine.” To that end, we employ a team of registered dietitians who individually tailor meals to each client’s specific medical requirements. God’s Love provides all services by employing a small but dedicated professional staff and with the critical assistance of 17,000 volunteers annually.
The Board of Trustees is a group of dedicated individuals who have served God’s Love We Deliver with distinction through Board membership, volunteerism or philanthropy. Trustee members are responsible for fundraising, lifting the visibility of God’s Love, and providing advice and counsel.
The Leadership Council is charged with helping to advance the mission of God’s Love We Deliver by bringing expertise, experience, resources and new friends to God’s Love We Deliver.
Generation LOVE (genLOVE) is the next generation of givers and doers at God’s Love We Deliver. These young professionals want to make a difference in the lives of our clients and the greater community by raising awareness, promoting giving and being a passionate advocate for the organization.
We are thrilled to have assembled a team of food and culinary experts across professions, such as chefs, food writers, farmers, food activists, and food entrepreneurs committed to nourishing New Yorkers living with severe and chronic illness.
