Our Key Messages

  • A simple idea: Feeding people who are too ill to shop and cook for themselves.
  • Purposefulness of volunteers:
    • Our volunteers meet the urgent need of providing meals to our clients.
    • They bring joy to the organization.
      • They are key stakeholders in our work – we literally could not achieve our mission without them.
    • They are our best ambassadors in the community.
    • Key words to include: purposefulness, opportunity, giving back, impact, meaningful, dedication, commitment, ambassadors.
  • Nutrition is our “signature difference”
    • Today, God’s Love is the only organization of its kind in New York City, cooking and delivering the specific, nutritious meals our clients’ severe illnesses and treatments so urgently require.
    • Our meals are customized to each client’s illness, symptoms and treatment needs, and held to the highest nutritional standards.
    • Meals customized to each client’s illness, symptoms and treatment needs.
    • We use the highest nutritional standards
    • By applying the knowledge gleaned from years of working with the sophisticated medical and nutritional challenges of HIV/AIDS, we now serve clients with a wide range of life-altering illnesses.
    • Nutrition as a way to maintain and improve overall health and manage illness.
    • Key words to include: nutrition-based meals, customized, knowledge, experience, nutritional health, well-being of clients, food as medicine, delicious and nutritious meals
  • Quality:
    • Our meals are prepared fresh in our kitchen, individually-tailored, home-delivered and they are delicious as well as nutritious.
    • We never use preservatives, starters, or fillers
    • We work with local and organic companies such as Grow NYC to include fresh produce in our meals
  • Flexibility:
    • For our clients’ convenience we have added frozen meals.
    • In late 2010 we debuted our chilled/frozen model.
    • In case of emergency (such as blizzards and blackouts that prevent us from delivering) we provide emergency meals. As our clients regain their health, we shift to grocery bags for our clients living with HIV who want to start cooking for themselves again.
  • Caring:
    • We do everything we can to provide “special touches” for our clients
      • We send personalized birthday cakes to clients, dependent children and caregivers. We also send a celebration mousse to those on textured diets.

    • Our goal is to both nourish and delight the individuals on our program
  • Family-Oriented
    • A sick parent will give food to their children. A senior caregiver may have great difficulty tending to our client that they cannot tend to themselves.
    • God’s Love provides meals for our clients’ dependent children and caregivers as this alleviates the stress on families who are already stretched to the limit because of illness.
