Proper Use of the Name of the Organization

At the beginning of any letter, press release or publication meant for the public, the first use of God’s Love We Deliver should always be written out in full.
- Correct: Thank you for donating to God’s Love We Deliver.
- Wrong: Thank you for donating to God’s Love
- Wrong: Thank you for donating to GLWD.
After the first use, the name can be shortened to God’s Love. Do not use “GLWD” in any letter, press release or publication meant for the public. The only two exceptions are for research purposes and is in the subject line of an email, as some spam filters block out the word “God.”
- Correct: Thank you for donating to God’s Love We Deliver. God’s Love is celebrating its 40th anniversary!
- Wrong: Thank you for donating to God’s Love We Deliver. GLWD is celebrating its 40th anniversary!
Avoid the double possessive
- Correct: The mission of God’s Love We Deliver is to…
- Wrong: God’s Love We Deliver’s mission is to…
- Correct: The brownies from God’s Love are delicious!
- Wrong: God’s Love’s brownies are delicious!
God’s Love cannot express emotion.
- Correct: Everyone at God’s Love is really excited to have you.
- Wrong: God’s Love is really excited to have you.
