Making a legacy gift in your will or trust is one of the easiest and most popular ways to partner in the mission. Bequests are typically written as part of a will or trust and can be given to a person, non-profit, trust, or foundation.

Fun fact: For bequests to be properly executed, a will must go through “probate” or be legally validated by your respective state.
Not-So-Fun Fact: If you have no will in place to specify your instructions, state law will dictate where your property passes. If you don’t leave a will and don’t have any living relatives, your estate, depending on where you live, could go to the state.
