God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require.

About Role

The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) provides nutrition education and counseling to our clients, their families, and caregivers to address individual needs based on unique diagnoses. The RDN also provides outreach to hard-to-reach and under-served communities through nutrition workshops, and education materials, and works with our Culinary and Program Teams to ensure quality services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide on-going nutrition counseling and education to clients and caregivers affected by life-altering illnesses.
  • Outreach to referred clients for engagement in nutritional care.
  • Assess nutritional status and develop comprehensive nutrition care plan for clients with a range of severe illnesses including HIV, cancer, and diabetes.
  • Plan and track dietary modifications to relieve specific nutrition-related symptoms associated with illnesses, prescription drugs, and food intake requirements and restrictions.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding client care.
  • Help guide interns in learning how to support clients living with severe illness.

About You

You are highly self-motivated and empathetic, with a strong desire to provide support to clients living with a serious illness. You are looking for a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment, and you are energized by providing nutrition education to clients with varied medical conditions.

In addition, you meet the following requirements:

  • MS in Nutrition Science with an emphasis on community nutrition, public health and/or nutrition education.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) – maintenance of current registration required.
  • A minimum of three years’ related experience in the field of nutrition or dietetics.
  • Experience supporting clients throughout the lifecycle via nutrition counseling.
  • Language Skills Preferred – Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule to accommodate some evening hours if needed.
