After a breast cancer diagnosis, it’s important to review your eating habits and overall health. Making appropriate food choices during chemotherapy treatment can help you feel better and stay stronger.
Why is nutrition key during and after treatment? Good nutrition and diet help maintain a healthy body weight, maintain strength and energy, decrease treatment side effects, and even improve the results of your chemotherapy treatment.
Many of our clients are breast cancer survivors. We work with them one-on-one to raise awareness about the importance of diet and nutrition and to help them make changes to prevent recurrence. It’s never too late to adopt a healthy lifestyle! Keep in mind that while diet and lifestyle play a very important role in preventing recurrence, there are no foods or dietary supplements that act as “magic solutions” to prevent breast cancer from returning.
Follow these nutritional tips during and after treatment:
Fruits and vegetables in a variety of colors
Fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains contain phytochemicals and fiber, both of which are very important for your nutrition and health. Aim for 5 or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day.

Fatty foods
Cured, pickled, and smoked foods with high sodium content
Alcohol
Maintain a healthy weight
Stay physically active
Love yourself and take care of yourself!
Después de un diagnóstico de cáncer de seno, es importante revisar sus hábitos alimentarios y salud en general. Elegir alimentos adecuados durante un tratamiento de quimioterapia puede ayudarla a sentirse mejor y mantenerse más fuerte.
¿Por qué es clave la nutrición durante y después del tratamiento? Una buena alimentación y nutrición ayudan a mantener un peso corporal saludable, mantener la fuerza y energía, disminuir los efectos secundarios del tratamiento e incluso mejorar los resultados de su tratamiento de quimioterapia.
Muchos de nuestros clientes son sobrevivientes de cáncer de seno. Trabajamos con ellos individualmente para concientizarlos sobre la importancia de la alimentación y la nutrición y para ayudarlos a realizar cambios para prevenir la recurrencia. ¡Nunca es tarde para adoptar un estilo de vida saludable! Tenga en cuenta que, si bien la alimentación y el estilo de vida juegan un papel muy importante en la prevención de la recurrencia, no existen alimentos ni suplementos dietéticos que actúen como “soluciones mágicas” para evitar que el cáncer de mama regrese.

Las frutas, vegetales, legumbres y granos integrales contienen fitoquímicos y fibra, ambos muy importantes para su nutrición y salud. Apunte a 5 o más porciones de frutas y vegetales al día.
