Make Movement a Habit, Not a Hassle
April is Move More Month - Here are quick ideas to make movement a habit, not a hassle!
For 40 years, God’s Love We Deliver has stood by our neighbors living with severe and chronic illness, ensuring that no one faces the crisis of illness and hunger alone. Our mission has always been rooted in a simple belief: access to nutritious food is essential to healing, compassion, and dignity.
We know many people are feeling anxious right now. News that SNAP benefits may run out in November has understandably raised concern across our community. For many of our clients, SNAP is an important supplement to the meals they receive from God’s Love. Losing this support will be challenging, and our hearts are with everyone facing uncertainty in the days ahead.
As more individuals confront food insecurity, we remain steadfast in our commitment to provide medically tailored meals to those who qualify for our services. We are grateful to Governor Hochul and state leadership for continuing to invest in food programs across New York. Their support has strengthened safety nets for our most vulnerable neighbors.
Still, this moment reminds us how vital federal nutrition programs are to the health and well-being of millions of Americans. Food is life. Food is love. It is critical to the physical, emotional, and economic stability of every individual and every family. SNAP has been a cornerstone of our nation’s hunger-relief efforts for decades, and we hope that continued dialogue will lead to a solution that protects people in need. When we nourish our communities, we strengthen our future.
For clients and community members who may be affected, we have compiled a list of emergency nutrition resources available on our website. You will also find information on our Medicaid 1115 Waiver screener, which may help identify additional support services, including access to medically tailored meals. We encourage everyone to share these tools with anyone who may benefit.
God’s Love was born during a time of crisis, and we have never wavered in our belief that food is medicine and food is love. We will continue to advocate, to care, and to be a beacon of hope for those who need us most. Together, we can build a future where no New Yorker living with illness has to worry about where their next meal will come from.
With love and solidarity,
Terrence
