Ten years ago, the Ride for Love was founded by a manager at Douglas Elliman who wanted to show his agents that they could accomplish difficult things when they focused on goals larger than themselves. To demonstrate this, he biked 100 miles to Douglas Elliman’s annual meeting, funding 357 meals for God’s Love We Deliver clients.
Today, we have more than 75 riders participating in this annual event, and our pack keeps growing. Over the past ten years, The Ride for Love has raised a grand total of $2,565,523 funding 256,552 meals for New Yorkers that are too sick to cook for themselves, not only surpassing the original goal to raise $1,5000,000 but continuously exceeding it.
While this year’s supported road ride in the Hamptons for the lengths of 25, 50, and 100 miles were canceled due to the storm, we could not be more thrilled that group stationary bike rides could still be held in the Bridgehampton Barn and in Manhattan at Hudson Yards, followed by a lovely gathering hosted by rider and Douglas Elliman agent Ann Cutbill Lenane.
