Protecting Our Community from Scams

God’s Love We Deliver is grateful for the trust our community places in us. Because that trust is valuable, our name — like the names of many well-known nonprofits — is sometimes misused by people running online scams.

We want to make it easy for you to tell the difference between a genuine message from us and one that only appears to be.

How to recognize a real message from God’s Love We Deliver

• Our email comes from an address ending in @glwd.org.
• We will never ask you to enter a password, or sign in to any account, in order to read a message from us, review a document, or complete a form.
• We will never ask for payment by gift card, wire transfer, cryptocurrency, or a peer-to-peer payment app.
• Invitations to donate will always direct you to our own website.
• Our staff will never ask you for money, gift cards, or urgent purchases on behalf of the organization.

If you’re asked to provide a reference

Some scams use the names of well-regarded nonprofits in messages about job and volunteer applications. One version asks the recipient to serve as a reference for someone applying to the organization, and includes a link to “reference documentation” or an online reference form. The link leads to a convincing but fake sign-in page. Anyone who enters their email password there can lose control of their account — and the same message is often then sent onward to all of their contacts.

To be clear about how we work:

• God’s Love We Deliver does not send reference requests through third-party platforms or outside links.
• If we ever contact you about a candidate, it will come from an @glwd.org address, and we will never ask you to sign in to anything in order to respond.
• If a message asks you to log in to view or complete a reference, it did not come from us. Please don’t click the link, even out of curiosity.

If a message doesn’t feel right

• Trust that instinct, and take a moment before you act.
• Please don’t click links or open attachments in a message you weren’t expecting.
• Please don’t reply to the message itself to find out whether it’s real. Contact us directly, using the phone number or email address listed on this website.
• If you’ve already clicked a link and entered a password anywhere, change that password right away, and turn on two-step verification (sometimes called multi-factor authentication) on that account.
