Holiday Cards that Give Back

A striking design of color and movement, this image is of a stained-glass panel created by God’s Love donor Yigal Yankelevits.

Image 3 of 10 "Santa’s Come to Town" by Steven Guarnaccia This card shows Santa as an outsized presence over a village street where people are shopping, skating, and dancing in preparation for the holidays. This fantastical scene is an original drawing by Steven Guarnaccia, God’s Love donor and award-winning author and illustrator.

Image 4 of 10 "Woodland Grace" by Fayne Ansley In this original watercolor we see a fragment of a bough of a long-needled Eastern White Pine spilling downward with a pinecone attached to it. Created by donor and longtime friend of God’s Love, Fayne Ansley, the botanical painting has both grace and sense of the pull of gravity.

Image 5 of 10 "Comfort and Joy" by Gary Gurber and Sara Juarez: This welcoming and whimsical black-and-white sketch was created in 1988 by Gary Gruber, a client of God’s Love We Deliver. In 1990, the drawing was featured in one of our earliest holiday card collections. Recently rediscovered in our archive, Gary’s original artwork offered an opportunity to revisit and celebrate not only his art but the spirit of care, nourishment, and connection that has always been at the heart of God’s Love. Illustrator and longtime friend Sara Juarez embraced the challenge of reimagining the piece while remaining true to the warmth and simplicity of Gary’s vision. By blending Gary’s expressive linework with Sara’s rich use of color, the final design brings to life our core values of nourishment and love.

Image 7 of 10 "Mountain Vista" by Julie Van Dore This evocative panoramic photograph by God’s Love staff member Julie Van Dore spans the snowy expanse of the Adirondacks looking out from Goodman Mountain. The blue-grey of the sky matches the new snow that has fallen on the trees below.

Image 9 of 10 "Audubon and Mason" Canada Warbler on a Southern Magnolia branch A slim blue-and-yellow warbler peeks out from the branch of a magnolia plant with large green leaves and a big red seed pod. In 1820, teenaged Joseph Mason travelled with the artist and ornithologist John Audubon, gathering specimens, rowing boats, carrying gear, cooking, and maintaining their camp. He also painted the uncredited plant backgrounds for about 50 of the bird illustrations that would appear in Audubon’s famous The Birds of America, including the painting represented here. We are grateful to The New York Historical for giving us permission to reproduce this work.

Keith was a supporter of God's Love We Deliver from our earliest days until his passing in 1990. His art and spirit continue to inspire us. We are especially honored that the volunteer lounge at our new distribution center at Liberty BKLYN, The Haring Heart Hub, was made possible by the Keith Haring Foundation.
