Recently, we had the great honor of celebrating the 20th (yes, you read that right!) work anniversary of our wonderful colleague, Lisa Zullig. Lisa is our beloved Director of Nutrition Services, and has been responsible for the growth and stability of the department over the years.
Prior to her work here, Lisa worked at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center and Housing Works. She came to God’s Love We Deliver because we uniquely partner medical nutrition therapy with medically tailored meals. Lisa has created a team of nutritionists with expertise in myriad areas: many are bilingual, many have expertise in cancer, HIV, gerontology, renal disease and food safety. In her time at God’s Love, Lisa has served on the NYC HIV Planning Council, the steering committee of the NYC Nutrition Education Network, and on the Executive Committee of the Public Health Community Nutrition Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She also received certification as a Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition. Lisa is also the co-chair of the Clinical Committee of the Food is Medicine Coalition.
Lisa is known for her caring and thoughtful demeanor, her deep respect and empathy for our clients, and her wizard brain around nutrition science. We have been so lucky to work with Lisa all these years, and look forward to all that she’ll continue to do on behalf of our clients living with illness!
