A special Thanksgiving Delivery

This week we made *very special Thanksgiving delivery.*

We delivered special holiday meals to immigrant children who have been separated from their parents and are being temporarily housed in New York. We were asked to send food that “tastes like home.” To respond, our chefs cooked up pupusa de cerdo con curtido (a traditional Guatemalan/El Salvadorian pork stuffed masa with traditional cole slaw) and pepian de pollo con arroz y frijoles (a traditional Guatemalan chicken stew with coconut rice and beans) for the kids to enjoy. The children are also receive special desserts of tres leches cake and a traditional Guatemalan cookie.

We are an organization that home-delivers meals to our sick neighbors and today we’re proud to bring a little bit of home – and a lot of love – to these children.
