On May 17, our awesome volunteer, Ashlee Davis, threw a mega birthday party for her boyfriend Zach and included God’s Love in the celebration, as the event’s beneficiary. The two have been dating for a year now, and Ashlee was determined to not only go all out, but give back when doing so! The fantastic party she threw at Gallery Bar in Bushwick (our neighbors!) was decked out for a party of drinks, dancing, and great music. Ashlee’s friend, JT Maple, performed a set with two band members to the enthusiastic crowd, and the party filled the entire back patio.

Not only was Zach completely surprised (and thrilled!), but the party raised $225 for God’s Love – incredible! We’re grateful to Ashlee, Zach, JT, Gallery Bar and all of the guests for making it the night it was and for supporting God’s Love!

Ashlee tells us, “I’ve raised more at other events — and hope to raise much more for God’s Love in the future! — but for a casual day party, I’m super happy about it.”

When she’s not throwing amazing parties and supporting God’s Love, Ashlee works at Everyday Health, producing health and nutrition stories with their video team, volunteers in the God’s Love kitchen on Tuesday nights, cooks healthy recipes in her own kitchen, and walks (and runs!) the streets of New York, looking for new restaurants, workout classes, and other adventures she has yet to try. Our biggest thanks to Ashlee for throwing this party and including God’s Love, and happy birthday, Zach!
