All About That Cake!

On Thursday, April 20, Pastry Chef Dorothy Auer hosted the first “God’s Love Birthday Party” in the Joan Rivers Bakery, celebrating and supporting our Birthday Bake Sale fundraising campaign. Guests included Alex Michaels (a.k.a. Alexis Michelle), Victoria Brito, Richard Kind, Candace Bushnell, L Morgan Lee, Stellene Volandes, Claudia Oshry, Sam Leicht, Jared Reinfeldt, and Zack Calderon. Dozens of birthday cakes were decorated for our clients, children, and caregivers in hopes of delivering some joy to families living with the effects of life-altering illnesses.

Since 1985, God’s Love We Deliver has been baking and personalizing a cake for their clients on their birthday, as well as for their children and caregivers. In addition to the medically tailored meals, these special cakes are accompanied by birthday cards made by our volunteers. We believe our clients and their families should not only be taken care of with compassion, but also celebrated.
