On July 13, 2014, God’s Love worked with over 60 volunteers who built 2,300 Blackout Bags for our clients. These are bags filled with non-perishable food items that we deliver in advance in the rare event that we are unable to deliver due to a blackout or other emergency. We are grateful to our volunteers who worked so hard to bring nutritious food and comfort to our clients!

We’d like to give a huge thank you to our dear friend, volunteer and #genLOVE member Jason Patrick, aka Bearded Yogi, for coordinating the day’s activities (and festivities!) and to all of the people, many of them first-time volunteers, who came from all over New York City to fill our emergency bags in record time – just 2 hours flat!

Here’s a video of the day: http://vimeo.com/100920933

God’s Love would also like to thank the following businesses that supported the #BeCommunity event: AshramChicNadia’s Moroccan Kitchen, La Colombe Coffee, Modo Yoga NYC and Antartic Creative.
