Call to Action: Protect Medicaid, Protect our Clients

At God’s Love We Deliver, we are sounding the alarm.

The One Big Beautiful Bill has just passed the Senate and now heads back to the House of Representatives, where it still faces opposition, but certainly not enough. This bill could be voted on as early as Wednesday, July 2. A version of this bill passed the House by a single vote in May before it went to the Senate. This may be our last chance to stop devastating, irreversible harm to the clients we serve and the communities we know and love.

If passed, this bill will strip healthcare from at least 14 million people across the country. It will slash funding for Medicaid, SNAP, and other lifeline programs, decimate state budgets, and drive up the cost of healthcare for everyone. It will leave countless families — including our clients — without a path to care.

New York alone stands to lose $13.5 billion each year over the course of the next decade.

This is a loss we cannot absorb. Not as a state. Not as a nonprofit. Not as a community.

God’s Love We Deliver has been advocating with our congressional delegation for months, urging them to understand the stakes. The clients we serve are living with serious illnesses. Many live with limited mobility. Many are older adults. 90% of our clients live at or below the federal poverty line. These are the people who will be hit first and hardest. These are the people whose access to care are at risk.

Cuts to Medicaid mean fewer people can access the medically tailored meals and the critical services that keep them alive and well that God’s Love We Deliver provides. Cuts to SNAP mean more of our clients will go hungry. Cuts to programs that keep people housed, nourished, and cared for will cost lives.
We are doing everything we can — but we can’t do it alone.

This is your call to action. Now is the time to raise your voice.

  • Call your representative.
  • Tell them your story.
  • Tell them what this bill will do to you, your family, your neighbors, and your community.

We will not allow this bill to pass quietly and without consideration of our clients.

Join us in protecting our clients, our mission, and our future.
