Dear Friends,
It is with great admiration and appreciation that we celebrate our volunteers this National Volunteer Week. Our volunteers are truly “out of this world!”
Just check out these astronomical numbers: in the past year, God’s Love We Deliver was powered by the hands and hearts of more than 23,000 volunteers and 660 corporate, student, and community groups. Thank you for helping us continue to serve our neighbors every day. We simply couldn’t do this work without you.
From our founding in 1985, our volunteers have truly shown us what our founder Ganga always said, that “Service is joy.” Our volunteers bring all their heart and soul to this work. It is noticed and appreciated.
I began my long association with God’s Love We Deliver as a volunteer more than 25 years ago, and it’s extraordinary to see how far the organization has come. This year we’ll deliver over four million meals to people living with serious and chronic illness. Recently I delivered meals with volunteers Avon and Francine to our client, James, who told me how meaningful it is to have our delicious meals — and the wonderful care and love from our volunteers — every week. Thank you again for all that you do!
Thank you from our Volunteer Department!
Together with our staff, our volunteers helped us accomplish so much in the past year, including:
On behalf of all of us at God’s Love We Deliver, but most especially the 15,000+ New Yorkers we will serve this year, thank you today, and every day.
