As you probably know by now, our beloved Emily is leaving the Volunteer Office for a great new position upstairs in our Development Department as our Communications Coordinator. We are so sad to see her go, but it’s a wonderful opportunity and we couldn’t be happier for her. In the 2 ½ years that Emily has been with the Volunteer Department, she has made an indelible impression on everyone. In addition to supervising the late-day and weekend kitchen shifts, Emily was also integral in establishing two new volunteer shifts – our Tuesday evening Client Services team and the expanding afternoon meal kitting crews. She has done an amazing job spearheading our outreach to local schools, having students decorate delivery bags and make birthday cards for our clients. Those of you who have had the pleasure of working with her throughout the holidays certainly appreciate the amount of organization and care she put into the coordination of over 500 delivery volunteers. And whether it’s been leading our team of staff and volunteers down Fifth Avenue for the Pride March or doing her popular nightly “ANNOUNCEMENTS!” in the kitchen, Emily has always been a passionate cheerleader for God’s Love and the work that all of you do. Her infectious enthusiasm will truly be missed in our office and in the kitchen, but we’re so excited for her and wish her all the best in her new position. CONGRATULATIONS EMILY!!
