Elected Officials Volunteer on Thanksgiving

During this challenging year, we were so honored to be joined by many of our elected officials and their staff as we celebrated our largest Thanksgiving yet at God’s Love. This year was particularly special as the need for God’s Love We Deliver’s services has increased significantly during this pandemic. We are thankful to our elected officials for joining us in our kitchen bright and early to volunteer their time to make Thanksgiving meals for our vulnerable clients, children, and caregivers. Thanksgiving really is a special time at God’s Love, and we were so happy to share the holiday with those who serve our community.

We were joined by State Senator Brian Kavanagh and his staff, as well as State Senator Brad Hoylman, and City Council Member Carlina Rivera who together helped pack out over 10,000 Thanksgiving feasts that were then delivered to clients living with serious illness.  These meals made their way throughout the five boroughs of New York City as well as Westchester, Nassau, and Hudson County New Jersey.

A special thank you to our public officials for volunteering their time to make this Thanksgiving a truly special event for our clients at God’s Love. We were so pleased to have a chance to share our mission with you and demonstrate the impact our services have on our clients every day.
