This week marked a milestone for God’s Love as we held our first-ever event for VillageCareMAX members and staff.
VillageCareMax is a long-term managed care plan and part of VillageCare New York, a community-based, nonprofit organization serving people with chronic care needs, as well as seniors and individuals in need of managed care, continuing care, and rehabilitation services. Together, we have served 1,054 members more than 379,000 meals over the past decade.
During the event, staff members from the God’s Love External Affairs, Nutrition, and Healthcare Partners Departments spoke about the benefits of medically tailored meals and answered questions. Our Kitchen team served up sample dishes and explained more about our ingredients, flavors, and the care that goes into each meal. Staff and members enjoyed a tour of the building and especially loved seeing the herbs we use in our meals growing on the rooftop garden. We’re looking forward to expanding our partnership as we work to support more and more New Yorkers living with illness. Food really IS medicine!
