On Sunday, July 10th, while the rest of New York City slept in or hit the beach, a team of staff and AMAZING volunteers gathered at God’s Love We Deliver to package our emergency client kits, also known as our “Blackout Boxes.” Twice a year, our clients receive these emergency kits filled with non-perishable items such as peanut butter, granola, oatmeal, etc to sustain them in the rare event that they miss a delivery.

It was a fantastic day and by far our fastest Blackout Box assembly yet, finishing 2,000 boxes in just 2 hours! We welcomed volunteers from various corporate and community groups, as well as several of our weekly volunteers. Everyone that attended came with a smile and ready to work, making the project a smashing success. We are so grateful to everyone who came to help out and hope you enjoy the photos from the day here!
