God's Love We Deliver receives accreditation from the Food Is Medicine Coalition!
God’s Love We Deliver is thrilled to share that Alissa Wassung, Senior Director of Policy & Planning, has been appointed to the first-ever Food Policy Transition Committee of NYC Mayor-elect Eric Adams. The Food Policy committee members are a diverse group of public health leaders, healthcare professionals, and policy and health experts who will serve to support the leadership and vision of Mayor-elect Adams to build a more just, inclusive, and healthy NYC. Alissa has done critical work at God’s Love We Deliver to further establish and expand access to medically tailored meals for people who are sick and hungry at the local, state, and national level, and we can’t wait to see what she’ll do in support of our beloved City and its residents.
“I am honored to join the Food Policy Committee. We have learned so much about food and nutrition insecurity through the course of COVID-19 and I know together, we will build a stronger City. The Mayor-elect has focused so much on food and nutrition and I am excited to get to work on a food future that is just, equitable and nutritious. I am delighted to join the Transition Committee and to work with some of the City’s most extraordinary thinkers, visionaries, and doers.” — Alissa Wassung, Senior Director of Policy & Planning, God’s Love We Deliver
