WOW! What an amazing weekend!! For the past few years, God’s Love We Deliver has prepared the lunches for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer participants as well as set up a cheering station to show our appreciation for all the wonderful support the Avon Foundation gives us. While it’s always a lot of hard work, requiring the help of over 200 staff and volunteers over 4 days, it remains one of our favorite projects of the fall season.

Starting with chopping vegetables for the sandwiches on Thursday to handing out the lunches on Sunday to the walkers, we prepared and packaged over 4,000 lunches! And on Saturday morning, our cheering station was a big hit with all the walkers as we handed out Chuck the Baker’s delicious brownies and encouraged them to sign the banner that would be used in Closing ceremonies. Despite the cold weather, there was nothing but warm and fuzzy feelings as we watched the amazing walkers go by. One of them was none other than our very own Karen Bdera, who has raised $157,250 in 11 years of walking!
