God’s Love We Deliver Announces Leadership Transitions for 2023

Dear friends of God’s Love,

If you haven’t yet heard, with very mixed emotions, I am writing to let you know that I have made the difficult decision to step down from my position as President & CEO at God’s Love at the end of 2022.

Being President & CEO of God’s Love has been a true honor. Over the past 15 years, we have grown in every way possible, built our beautiful building, weathered the challenges of Covid, increased the visibility of our organization, quadrupled the number of meals we cook, package and deliver, and so much more. Locally and nationally, we have moved forward with our colleagues, in policy and program, to provide medically tailored meals and nutritional counseling to more and more people, regardless of where they live or what resources they have.

The timing of this decision is right, for me personally and for God’s Love. We have strong leadership in place across the organization as well as strong staff in every position. I am delighted to report that the Board agrees with me and remains quite impressed with our staff in all departments.

Since I made this decision, the Board has spent much time on the process for selecting the next President & CEO. Board members have considered numbers of different pathways and talked with many people. They have agreed on the job description and the skill sets needed for success.

As a result of their deliberations, we are delighted to announce that the Board has chosen David Ludwigson, Vice-President and Chief Development Officer, as the next President & CEO of God’s Love We Deliver.

David brings more than 25 years of experience to this role. Before joining the staff in April 2007 as Chief Development Officer, David was a volunteer in our kitchen for many years and then a funder of our services through the Ford Motor Company. He has played many key roles in the growth of God’s Love and is deeply committed to our mission, program, clients and staff. He has strong relationships with hundreds of donors. He has been part of setting the goals and strategies for God’s Love over many years, fully embraces our DEIA efforts, and is ready for this important career next step.

With all the challenges ahead of us – ongoing client growth, new programs to be brought online, the new CRM/ERP system, the move to Northern Dispensary, and so much more, David is clearly the right person to be leading God’s Love into the future. The continuity in leadership and vision will serve us all well.

I could not be more excited about David’s promotion to President & CEO and look forward to his leadership and the many successes the organization will continue to have. Further, I will continue working with God’s Love on a part-time basis in the new year. David and I are talking now about those details.

David will start as President & CEO on January 1, 2023. In the next five months, I know that we will accomplish great things together. I remain excited about our goals and know that forward progress will continue at God’s Love long into the future.

Thank you for your continued support.

In partnership and gratitude,

Karen Pearl
President & CEO
