A Celebration of Nourishment: Love, Lasagna, and Community

This year, on October 28th, our beloved event once again brought together volunteers, staff, friends, and family at Chelsea’s Lasagna Ristorante for a joyful evening of connection, commitment, and compassion.

The Lasagna Party began as a heartfelt idea among a few of our Thursday night volunteers, who wanted to go beyond their usual efforts and do even more for the clients we serve. Years ago, volunteers Richie Fink, Bill Komar, and Vincent Meo asked, “How can we deepen our support for God’s Love?” Vincent’s answer was simple and sincere: “I make a mean lasagna!”

From there, a tradition was born, and the Lasagna Party quickly grew from a small gathering into a lively celebration where guests come together for a common purpose: raising funds for the Race to Deliver to help nourish our neighbors in need.

This annual event is about so much more than raising funds – it’s a family reunion. Our dedicated staff joined our volunteers to show their support, fostering a sense of unity as we all worked together for a common cause. Friends offer their generosity, and everyone joins together to support God’s Love with joy and warmth. As the aroma of lasagna fills the room, we honor the legacy of our founding volunteers, celebrate the spirit of community, and are reminded of the power of love in action.

Thanks to the incredible spirit and dedication of our supporters, the Lasagna Party has raised over $230,000 to date, helping us provide tens of thousands of medically tailored meals to our clients. We are especially grateful to Richie Fink for underwriting the dinner each year, allowing every dollar raised to go directly to nourishing our clients. His generosity and commitment make such an impactful difference and have kept this tradition alive and thriving.
